First Thursday on Main Presents: The Simplicity with Mids

1515 Main Street, Boyd Plaza 6:00 p.m.

First Thursday’s June edition will not disappoint!

The weather is warming up, so wear your short pants and plan on grabbing a cold beverage in Boyd Plaza or somewhere along Main Street, because we’re welcoming for the first time Carolina Pong to provide a great opportunity for some friendly competition.

For your earholes, we’re excited to invite The Simplicity from Charleston and local group Mids, accompanied by DJ Tony Gray to kick off the evening at 6pm.

Charleston hunks The Simplicity have absorbed all of your weird uncle’s psych rock records, your dad’s Petty 8-tracks, and your mom’s favorite Stones songs, then distilled the mix into their own explosive brand of retro-tinged, threadbare rock bangers.

Returning from a nearly five-year hiatus, Mids is primed and ready to chug out riffs. The Columbia quintet – featuring members of Dear Blanca, Stagbriar, Numbtongue, and ET Anderson – has stripped away the ornamentation of their rock, metal and jazz fusion influences, creating their own brand of lobotomized punk.

Transmission Arcade will provide beer tent, and food truck yumminess provided by Los Chicanos and Luna’s Grill.

And don’t forget Art in the Arcade Mall – 1332 Main Street!
