Boyd Plaza – In November, FTOM is featuring the Main Street Jazz Fest!  The First Thursday event will feature the music of Mark Rapp, Dick Goodwin, and many other local jazz stars. It will also serve as a remembrance for three of Columbia’s most respected and admired musicians who have recently passed away, Skipp Pearson, Robert Newton, and John Blackwell. Main Stage on Boyd Plaza: Amos Hoffman, guitar; Sam Edwards, bass; Danny Boozer, drums; Robert Gardiner, sax; The Tony Lee Group; Mitch Butler, trombone; and Dick Goodwin, trumpet.

Columbia Museum of Art –  Galleries are open from 5  – 8 pm. Enjoy a 6:00 p.m. gallery tour of Henri Matisse: Jazz & Poetry on Paper. Have a laugh with The Mothers sketch comedy troupe from Trustus Theatre at 6:30 pm. Free with membership or admission.

Museum Shop – Local artist Maya Smith will take commissions for pet portraits just in time for the holidays from 6 – 8 pm. Smith will also have ornaments, prints, and other adorable gifts for any animal lover available for purchase. Plus, join the Alliance Française for their wine tasting event at 6:00 pm. Gallery at City Hall – A free gallery talk on the current photography exhibition at City Hall Gallery will be given at 6:30 pm, revealing how the works of turn-of-the-last-century ground-breaking photographer Richard Samuel Roberts and mid-century photographer Russell Maxey captured the essence of Columbia on film. For this show, Columbia: Transitions, Russell Jeffcoat has juxtaposed black and white works from his own prolific output with works by Roberts and Maxey. The works by the historic photographers is on loan from the Columbia Museum of Art collection.
